Liverpool Science Park
Liverpool Science Park is Merseyside’s only project that is being delivered to support the commercialisation of the knowledge economy by providing specialist fit for purpose facilities and access to specialist business support infrastructure.
The vision of Liverpool Science Park, one of Merseyside’s largest regeneration projects, is to address market failure by developing a range of specialist infrastructures to attract and retain knowledge-based companies. Liverpool Science Park’s business plan outlines a number of phased developments providing a range of specialist facilities that will secure companies for the regional economy through each stage of development - from start-up to head-office.
Liverpool Science Park’s Innovation Centre, launched in January 2006, is aimed at early-stage, high-growth companies. With 22 specialist companies already in occupation, Liverpool Science Park continues to manage a strong pipeline of demand. The superior quality of the Innovation Centre’s integrated offer – the combination of outstanding facilities and specialist services - means that half of its current and potential tenants are inward investors. In addition, three Liverpool Science Park companies have already expanded within the facility.
Liverpool Science Park is a key economic driver for the growth of Liverpool’s Knowledge Economy and the stimulation of an entrepreneurial culture that focuses on innovation, science and technology. This project supports directly the existing Objective One investment in the Liverpool Science Park and complementary projects in the Universities and the local Knowledge Economy.
